Project A+ by Tyson
Hey, have you heard about Project A+ by Tyson Foods? You haven’t, then let me tell you all about it. Tyson Foods, Inc. has a project called “Project A+” which earns money for any accredited PreK through 12th Grade school (public, parochil and military schools) in the United States and Over Seas. All you have to do is clip and snip the labels off of any participating Tyson Foods product.
Which Tyson Foods products are participating? Basically, any of the Tyson Food products that are in the freezer section. All you have to do is look for the products that display the project A+ logo on them.
How much money does a school earn for each label? Great question! Each school earns $.24 per label for a maxmium total of $12,000.00 per year. The school send them in each time they reach 100 or more labels.
How long does it take to receive a check back from Tyson Foods? Tyson Foods asked for you to allow them four (4) weeks for a check to arrive.
Does a school have to purchase certain things with the money they receive? NO!!! That is what makes this program so wonderful. Your local school can buy anything they want with the money. Anything from classroom supplies to playground equipment. ANYTHING!!!!

Nestle “Go Play Labels” Earns School’s Money
Nestle, Inc. is sponsoring a program called “Go Play Labels” for schools. Here is how it works. Easy as 1, 2, 3…
- Drink Nestle Pure Life Water
- Collect Labels
- Earn Healthy Rewards for your school
How many points do you get for each label? Great question… Nestle, Inc. gives you two (2) Go Play! points for each label redeemed. I know that does not seem like alot, but just think if very child brought in “Go Play” labels each week, just how many your school would have. How about if you only “sold” Nestle Pure Life Drinking Water at any of your school functions and asked everybody in the community to donate the labels back to your school, how quickly they would add up. CLICK HERE for more information about the”Go Play Labels”.
What do you get for all of those labels? Good question! Well you can choose between “Healthy Sports Equipment” and “Healthy Fieldtrips” for your school.
How many points does it take to receive “FREE” sports equipment for your school? According to the “Go Play” labels calculator, you can start ordering sports equipment as soon as you have reached enough labels. It only takes 560 “Go Play” points to get a 10″ Playground Ball for gym class or 700 “Go Play” points for a new soccer ball. CLICK HERE for a complete list of sports/gym equipment you can redeem.
How many points does it take to receive “FREE” transportation for a fieldtrip? Well, when your school earns 10,000 points you can choose to have “Go Play Labels” pay for your bus transportation for a fieldtrip. We all know that the bus transportation is the most expensive part of a fieldtrip for our students, but Nestle, Inc. will help pay for it for you. Not only do they help with paying for the transportation but they also have a list of places in your area you can take children on fieldtrips that are Healthy, Fun and Exciting!!! CLICK HERE to check out the list of places you could go.
I know, it seems like it takes alot of points before you can redeem things during this program, but it really will not take long to get that many points when you get everybody at your local school involved and lets not forget your community either. Once everybody is involved in the program, not only will your local school benefit financially but your whole community will become healthier too!

“Love Your Veggies” School Grant Program
The makers of Hidden Valley Salad Dressing are extremely excited to annouce the 2009-2010 “Love Your Veggies” grant program, now in it’s fourth consecutive year. This year, Hidden Valley will award $10, 000.00 grants to ten (10) elementary schools in the United States. With support from its partner the School Nutrition Foundation (SNF), the grant program will once again seek to help schools execute innovative programs that will increase the access to, and consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables in the lunchroom.
Interested schools may apply for a grant beginning August 17, 2009 through November 6, 2009. Schools will be notified of their award status by February 15, 2010 and a public announcement of all ten (10) winners will be made in April 2010.
CLICK HERE for a listing of the 2008-2009 school year winners of “Love Your Veggies” grant program. All grant awards were based on proposals that demonstrated need, innovation, greatest likelihood of sustainable impact on the students they are serving, and potential for community involvement.
Sonic & DonorsChoice.org Are Giving Money Away To Teachers!!!!
Hey, did you know that the average teacher spends $1200.00 of their own money each year to provide learning materials, resources and supplies to their students. So Sonic is partnering with DonorsChoice.org on a brand new program called “Limeades for Learning”. For more information CLICK HERE!
Here’s how it works. During September, when you and me visit Sonic and order any drink (except Wacky Pack Meals and Premium Roast Coffee Based Drinks), you can help public school teachers inspire kids to learn. With each drink, you’ll get to vote online and tell us which teacher’s project you think should recieve funding. Sonic will donate more than half a million dollars to the projects that receive the most votes. So, get ready to drink up and give kids a brighter, more fulfilling school year and future.
Are you a teacher? Register and submit your classroom project at DonorsChoice.org/Teacher. CLICK HERE Make sure to identify yourself as a Sonic teacher when registering. Teachers have until August 28, 2009 to submit a project to DonorsChoice.org to have it included in “Limeades for Learning”.
On a personal note, I have a really soft spot in my heart for teachers!!! No, I am not a teacher nor am I married to one, but I know first hand how expensive a public school education can be and how expensive alot of the basic teaching materials are (worked as a purchasing person for 10 years at one of the largest school districts in southeast Tennessee). I also know that every teacher takes money away from their own families to purchase items/materials for their classrooms to help yours and my children learn better. So what better way could you help out then to particpate in “Limeades for Learning” (remember you are getting a drink too!).
Everybody will be able to start voting on all of the projects starting on August 31, 2009. Please VOTE!!!!
